7th Grade - History of the World
This course shows God's hand in history, to teach the history of mankind from a Biblical perspective, and to teach lessons that can be learned from history. The students review maps to help identify geographical locations they study. This course involves individual projects and oral presentations.
Course of study includes: Creation and Ancient Civilizations of Mesopotamia, Egypt, Israel, Greece, Rome. The Middle Ages, Crusades, Renaissance Era, Reformation, Elizabethan Age, and English Nation.
The Crusades
Week of March 21 - 25 Crusade Projects are due Monday, March 21 We will be presenting in class. Week of March 14-18 We have had some good discussions of the distortion of Christianity during this time period, especially in regards to the crusades. >Quiz (11) - Wednesday, March 16 Week of March 7-11 We discuss Islam and Christianity and the basis for the start of the Crusades. >Quiz (10) - Tuesday, March 8 >Crusade project - Due: March 21 Week of February 29-March 4 The crusades were introduced. Activities as we studied different ancient civilizations. They are playing a game of Ur of Ancient Mesopotamia, writing cuneiform style like the Sumerians, presenting their brochure of Ancient Egypt, and playing a game of Phoenicians as they travel the Mediterranean Sea.
