9th Grade - Michigan History
This course is about the important events and people that made our state what it is today. It is a study of several cultures and geographical boundaries around the Northwest Territory. A variety of methods will be used to help students understand how Michigan was explored, settled and improved.
Course of Study includes: Fur trade, Voyageurs, Exploration, Copper and Iron Ore discoveries, and statehood. We explore government by looking at the foundations of government, and different forms of government. We examine the three branches of government.

Foundations of our Government
Week of March 21-25 We will discuss the heritage of our government this week. We have moved from learning of Michigan's history to learning the foundations of our government. |
